Saga Anderson Temporary Warden (Apr/May) ----------------
I've instituted the following restriction:
Re: projectile weapons of any kind ( bows, slings, guns, crossbows, etc.)
Mr. Seed only gets one shot total that he can use up on any weapon of his choosing, but once that shot is gone, none of those weapons fire. This also applies to any attack made at his direct order; no proxy trigger fingers to get around it. This restriction does *not* apply to weapons generated by the Enclosure for the hunting of Enclosure-generated game, but will no longer apply if he attempts to harm another person during a hunting trip.
His warden will be made aware if that shot is used... and able to, at their discretion, provide another single shot or a temporary release for emergency circumstances. Mr. Seed has been informed of the aforementioned restrictions and has assured me that he understands the limits as set.
I would also like to note that Mr. Seed shows some signs of self-destructive tendencies and I would recommend any wardens assigned to him keep a close watch for signs of a flare up in that direction. He's intelligent, but I noticed distinct signs of mental and intellectual fatigue; triteness or platitudes will only aggravate him. That said, he's more open-minded than he pretends to be as long as you're patient, willing to stand steady, and offer him something interesting.
I intend to maintain a relationship with him after my temporary assignment and would be more than willing to discuss his situation with any subsequent wardens.
During one port, Jacob Seed kidnapped the warden Alexander Hilbert. He planned the kidnapping for when Hilbert's inmate was in a coma and the vast majority of people were off the ship, thereby making it so Hilbert's absence had multiple explanations. For approximately a week, Alexander Hilbert was tortured. A mixture of drugs, classical conditioning, and torture helped Seed implant a trigger in Hilbert's mind. When the trigger is activated, Alexander Hilbert goes into a fugue state and will respond to whatever orders Jacob Seed gives. Actions committed while in this fugue state involve theft and murder. Seed can also command someone to forget what they have done in the fugue state.
For Alexander Hilbert's safety, the specific trigger will not be listed in the inmate ledger. This is simply to inform any current or future wardens what Seed is capable of.
Jacob Seed now glows red when he's contemplating harm to someone. The intensity of the glow will grow the more specific and intense the thoughts of harm are. The glow will be visible only the person he's thinking of harming so the target of his thoughts should be clear. This has been announced to the general community, inmates and wardens both, but new arrivals may not be aware of it.
Wardens: Read the bloody inmate ledger. This is what it's for. If you're reading this, thank you. And kindly inform new inmates so they'll know what it means when Jacob lights up. I can't pin an explanatory note to his forehead. If you never read this even though you could have, get stuffed you hopeless sod.
If a concerning level of glow is observed, I expect someone to inform me so I can take steps to address the matter. If you don't, and someone is hurt or killed when it was entirely preventable had there been some simple communication, I shall throw something at you. And it will be something very messy.
