Another kiss, another long, but exhausted kiss, and he sits back. The day has been long and fucking confusing, but he is here, he is strangely content, and if he doesn't think too hard, then it should be fine.
"Good," he mutters, curling his arm around him and keeping him close.
He presses a kiss to his forehead, gentle and chaste as he settles in for sleep. It doesn't take him long before his breathing evens, and the nightmares don't come that night.
