[Norton is alerted as soon as Jacob is killed. He double-checks the location on his warden item and then teleports there, grabs Jacob by whatever body part is closest, and then immediately teleports out. Whatever managed to kill Jacob, Norton doesn't want to be anywhere in its vicinity if he can help it.
He takes Jacob to Norton's cabin, where he knows its safe, requests the Admiral to resurrect him, and then waits.]
[Jacob wakes, but doesn't actually wake. He sleeps, he dozes, he turns over in the unfamiliar space, and he doesn't open his eyes until he absolutely needs to. It's a mixture of conserving his strength and preventing the inevitable. He did not want to wake up. He did not want to do anything other than fade into oblivion. If he keeps his eyes closed long enough, oblivion might come.
It doesn't. Instead, he opens his eyes to Norton's cabin and groans.]
Because it's the only cabin I can whoosh into directly and because I know it's secure.
I can take you to the infirmary or to your cabin if you'd prefer to recover there, but the immediate concern until you woke up was getting away from whoever killed you. Aspirin?
It's a mild opium tonic with camphor and anise, mostly for children. My mother used to give it to me every time I came down with a cough. [Norton explains paregoric as he fetches an ordinary aspirin for Jacob instead.]
I'm not saying rush in willy-nilly with the first person at hand. I mean strategize. Even if it means he walks away temporarily, isn't it better if you plan and get him in the end instead of him getting you and going off to continue being a sadistic arse?
Well, I'd rather you not die at all, of course, but under the circumstances I'd do the same. Get what bit of my own back that I could before the end.
And if he were an inmate here instead of a temporary visitor, I'd be pressing his warden to request a deeply unpleasant punishment for him. I don't care for senseless murder.

He attacked me because I wouldn't take him to the Admiral.
And I spit on his shoes.

Maybe next time you deal with someone like that get someone to help you kill him instead?

And before you hear it somewhere else, Abel's goddamn visitor stabbed me in the shoulder. John pulled him off.
Guess that makes us even.
